New gene forges link between fragile site and many cancers
Article Abstract:
Cancer gene experts Carlo Croce, Kay Huebner and their colleagues have identified a gene they call FHIT which is damaged or missing in a broad range of cancers including lung, breast and colon cancer. The evidence suggests that the gene may be an important tumor suppressor.
