Park site identified for Manitoba Lowlands region
Article Abstract:
Manitoba Natural Resources and Parks Canada have identified three natural areas to be designated a national park for the Manitoba Lowlands natural region. The proposal aims to protect almost 1,489 sq. kms. of Long Point wilderness, northern Lake Winnipeg's Limestone Bay area, and several islands near Hecla Provincial Park.

CNF intervenes in Cheviot mine hearings
Article Abstract:
The CNF is intervening in the hearings for the proposed reopening of the Cheviot coal mine near Jasper National Park. CNF counters statements made by Parks Canada that the coal operation would not alter the animal and plant life in the park.
