Plane-strain tension tests on aluminum alloy sheet
Article Abstract:
A new method for performing plane-strain tests on sheet specimens is presented. The method uses cylindrical friction grips to measure strains together with the uniaxial tensile data. The measured values are then used to compute for the expected forces. The proposed method has been used in the analysis of aluminum alloy 2008-T4. The computed values were found to be in good agreement with experimental data.

Formability and weld zone analysis of tailor-welded blanks for various thickness ratios
Article Abstract:
The formability of the tailor-welded blanks (TWBs), as well as the mechanical characteristics of the weld zones, was analyzed experimentally under the effects of various thickness ratios of TWBs. The experimental findings showed that the higher the thickness ratio of the TWBs, the lower the forming limit curve level, and the lower formability.
