Putting a human face on a new breed of robot
Article Abstract:
A robot that recognizes human facial expressions and mimics them is in development at Science University, Tokyo, Japan. A charge-coupled device camera in the 'face robot's eye records patterns of darkness and light on a human face, and matches them with a stored databank of expressions.
