RNAi in C. elegans: Soaking in the Genome Sequence
Article Abstract:
RNA interference is a reverse genetic tool that converts sequential information into functional information. Research on worms dipped into dsRNA and fed E. coli induced specific interferences. The use of RNA interference will be a powerful tool for suppressing gene function and inducing interference en masse may have wide ranging effects on genetic research.

Organelle genomes: going, going, gone!
Article Abstract:
The hydrogenosome has no genome and relies entirely on the nucleus for its genetic livelihood even though the eukaryotic organelle was endosymbiotic when it originated. Hypotheses for the origin of the hydrogenosome of Trichomonas vaginalis are discussed.

The pluses of subtraction
Article Abstract:
Representational difference analysis (RDA) is a genomic subtraction method that can be used to study human cancer and genetic diseases. RDA could also be used to analyze the genes of other organisms.
