U.S. Air Force and Superfund
Article Abstract:
Superfund officials hope to use interim actions, observational methods and new technologies to clean up 67 contaminated sites at the Wright-Patterson Air Force base by the year 2005. The agreement between the base and Superfund has established specific cleanup procedures by setting up a schedule of activity that incorporates Superfund rules and actions. The base utilizes interim-cleanup actions and dialogue with government officials to speedup the remediation process. Risk-based funding strategies have been defined to address the cleanup process.

Communities: virtual vs. real
Article Abstract:
The view that online communities must be measured against offline communities is one-sided and biased. Virtual communities offer opportunities that offline communities do not. Researchers should identify the strengths and weaknesses of each type of community.
