Receptor tails unlock developmental checkpoints for B lymphocytes
Article Abstract:
Two new papers have reported the discovery of two checkpoints in the developmental pathway of B lymphocytes. The checkpoints, part of the immunoglobulin gene rearrangement process, are previously known receptor molecules that have now been found to have a regulatory role.

Hold 'em and fold 'em: chaperones and signal transduction
Article Abstract:
Two new genetic studies indicate that DnaJ, the chaperone partner of Hsp90 (DnaK), plays multiple roles in steroid receptor signaling. The findings suggest that molecular chaperones may need the cooperation of another chaperone to function properly.

Tyrosine phosphatases and the antibody response
Article Abstract:
Research indicates that SH2-containing protein tyrosine phosphatases (PTP1C) play a major role in the regulation of signaling by receptors that use tyrosine phosphatases to mediate their intracellular effects.
