Renovated bascule bridge reopens in Chattanooga

The Market Street Bridge, a 2,000-ft bridge crossing the Tennessee River at Chattanooga, has been reopened after two years of renovation. The original details of the bridge, constructed from 1914-1917, were replicated as closely as possible, while the mechanical systems of the bascule span were also overhauled.

Construction begins on replacement of collapsed Minneapolis bridge
Article Abstract:
The bridge that collapsed on Interstate 35W in Minneapolis is being replaced by a new structure called the St. Anthony Falls Bridge. The new bridge has two separate crossings that each has five traffic lanes in one direction. The bridge is expected to start carrying traffic by December 24, 2008.
