Researchers model costliest earthquake in history in downtown, LA
Article Abstract:
The details of the earthquake scenarios, developed by researchers from United States Geological Survey (UGS), and Southern California Earthquake Center of University of Southern California, of the Puente Hills Fault, located just below Los Angeles, are presented. It is being assumed that any damage occurring to the fault as a result of an earthquake, could lead to a loss of $252 billion. The purpose of the research is to provide suggestions relating to providing emergency management services.
