Ribozymes in wonderland
Article Abstract:
Researchers have developed a scheme for continuous evolution that results in the ligation of ribosomes. The reaction was seeded by copies of pre-evolved ligase. The scheme may enable further comparative studies of in vitro evolution, which could eventually be subjected to experimental tests.
