Risk management perceptions and trends of U.S. construction
Article Abstract:
Roozbeh Kangari has reported on the differences in how various sectors of the construction industry view risk management and how this affects a sector's contracting techniques. It is concluded that based on risk importance, the risks related to change orders, third-party delays and indemnification and hold harmless are presently the most contentious areas in petrochemical/oil and gas sector contracting and there are few failures in the top 100 contractors of 1993. With respect to risk allocation, sector defensive engineering is usually allocated to the contractor.
