Bioinspired surfaces with special wettability
Article Abstract:
The biomimetic research of special wettability in nature is reviewed to stress the importance of the micro- and nanostructures and some facile methods are introduced to construct superhydrophobicity on artificial surfaces. The combination of special surface structure and the responsive materials that may result in the external stimuli-driven reversible switching between superhydrophilicity and superhydrophobicity is shown.

Theoretical analysis of the rotational barrier of ethane
Article Abstract:
A computational analysis is conducted to study the rotation barriers of ethane and its congeners with respect to steric repulsion, hyperconjugative interaction, and electronic and geometric relaxation. The observations agree with the theory that conventional steric repulsion strongly dominates the barriers.
