The LN2000 is a converted mail-delivery van powered by converting liquid nitrogen to gas. The van is driven by pressure released when cold liquid nitrogen is heated past its boiling point by outside air and becomes gas. The van's design lets nitrogen pass inside a set of nested tubes.

Bioremediation is the use of living organisms to help clean up wastes. Bacteria have been used to help purify sewage, and to help with industrial sludge. Microorganisms were used on the beaches after the Exxon Valdez disaster, and for the removal of various other hazardous waste.
