Saving the salmon of the Pacific Northwest
Article Abstract:
The project aims to manage the watershed of the Skagit River so that its complex ecology, salmon fishery, and human livelihoods can be sustained. Skagit Watershed Council and the U.S. National Park Service will work in partnership to address the conservation needs of this scenic river basin, from dramatic glaciers to rich estuaries, which supports one of the healthiest runs of Pacific salmon in the united States.

Icelandic and Alaskan glaciers
Article Abstract:
The project aims to predict the impact of surges and sediments form the active glaciers of Iceland and Bering Glacier of Alaska. Drs. Andy Russell, Fiona Tweed, Philip Marren, Mathew Roberts and his project team will sample and measure sediments and glacial ice, survey landforms using GPS unit and a number of geophysical techniques, and document sediment size and type.

Farming biodiversity

The maintenance of the current levels of biodiversity with scientific research as well as farming is focused. The creation of right conditions by farming for the persistence of some wildlife in the landscape is described.
