Integrated tests for removal of nitric oxide with iron thiochelate in wet flue gas desulfurization systems
Article Abstract:
Iron(II) thiochelate can be used as a reducing agent to regenerate aqueous ferrous nitrosyl complexes, which are formed by contact with gas containing nitric oxide. The reduction approach is not only simple and efficient, but is also cost-effective. Integrated tests of this new iron additive on a bench-scale system, including the absorption of SO2 and NO from a gas stream, the removal of solids, the regeneration of iron(II)(DMPS)2 and the stripping of ammonia, affirmed the effectiveness of the regeneration technique.

Iron transport and signaling in plants
Article Abstract:
It is important to determine how various transport and signaling events are linked to iron storage and utilization for metabolic purposes to fully understand the molecular basis of iron homeostasis in plants. An overview of the role played by iron uptake and subcellular compartmentalization at a cellular level in yeast is presented.

Nitric oxide: the versatility of an extensive signal molecule
Article Abstract:
Nitric Oxide (NO) is a small highly diffusible gas and a ubiquitous bioactive molecule. Recent advances in the mechanisms by which NO modulates molecular and physiological plant responses are discussed with an aim to integrate the NO biochemistry in plant biology processes.
