Science and technology centers-rich resources for free-choice learning in knowledge in a knowledge-based society
Article Abstract:
The learning strategy of many people who prefer free-choice learning-self-directed, voluntary and guided by individual learners' needs and interests, whose transformation represents a major reason why science and technology centers are undergoing unprecedented popularity is presented. The Contextual Model of Learning and presenting finding from two specific exhibition projects in two science centers are discussed.

The promoting of the public understanding of science by the educational strategies of the Exploratorium, a hands-on science center in San Francisco is discussed. The use of web and other technologies in ways that embed the Exploratorium's traditional educational philosophy which promotes science learning through personal and first-hand interactions with inquiries into natural phenomena is presented.

Maintaining funding in large-scale international science projects
Article Abstract:
An exploration in the management of the funding process whereby scientific projects are funded through international partnerships is presented with the help of a case study. The maintenance of funding till the completion of the project is a main challenge as governments and politicians have the prime control of the funds.
