Reinventing the Science Master's Degree
Article Abstract:
An experiment at five universities to offer a master of science degree as an alternative to the Ph.D. to science undergraduates is being funded by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation in New York. The graduate science degree is designed for careers in business and industry rather than academe for which the Ph.D. is tailored.
