Seismic in St. Louis
Article Abstract:
Some sections of the double-deck I-880 Cypress Viaduct and 40/I64 double-deck bridge in St. Louis, MO, have been damaged by the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. Investigations show that the structures do not conform with seismic standards. The Missouri Dept of Transportation (DoT) has made seismic evaluation and retrofit plans for the damaged structures to enhance their capability and meet current design standards which can withstand seismic activities.
