Sewer sensors offer promise for reducing overflows
Article Abstract:
A network of wireless sensors would be deployed in the city sewers in South Bend, Indiana, which will be the first to have the ability to monitor conditions within a collection system and to control operations so as to prevent overflows or greatly reduce their effects. The technology could offer a new approach for cities across the nations that are struggling to address combined sewer overflows.
