"Smart communities" put nature first: Campaign aims to curb urban sprawl
Article Abstract:
Information about Ontario Nature's smart community campaign to protect nature by curbing sprawl and promoting 'smart growth' of towns and cities putting nature first, its roots being in a successful initiative to protect the 160 km long Oak Ridges Moraine near Toronto is provided. The method by which Ontario Nature promotes its campaigns and brings awareness amongst the 'Sprawl watchers' and local people to deal with issues is also presented.
