Subatomic spin still in crisis
Article Abstract:
A new detector called HERMES, on Germany's HERA positron-proton collider, has confirmed the shortfall between the spin of atomic particles and the total spin of the quarks that comprise them. Physicists are encouraged that HERMES will be able to detect the missing spin and solve other spin mysteries.
