Temporal coding in neuronal populations?
Article Abstract:
The rate of neuronal firing is believed to be the underlying mechanism by which sensory, motor and cognitive events are processed. Researchers are examining whether temporal coding, which relates to the timing between action potentials, is also responsible for the processing of information.

New model charts swings in crab populations
Article Abstract:
Scientists have developed a computer model that analyzes the effects of biological and environmental forces on Dungeness crab populations. The model indicates that huge crab population swings result when biological feedbacks amplify changes in physical environment.

Snowshoe hare populations: squeezed from below and above
Article Abstract:
Researchers led by Charles Krebs have discovered evidence that interaction between food availability and predator activity causes the cyclical fluctuations in Canadian snowshoe hare populations. Long-term population data support this hypothesis.
