The 1998 Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to Horst L. Stormer, Daniel C. Tsui and Robert B. Laughlin. For Chemistry, the awardees were Walter Kohn and John A. Pople. The Physiology or Medicine award was given to Robert F. Furchgott, Louis J. Ignarro and Ferid Murad. The Economics prize was given to Amartya Sen.
