The Causes of Haldane's Rule
Article Abstract:
Speciation has remained an elusive aspect of evolution. The development of reproductively isolated groups from a single lineage has various contributors, such as natural selection and geographical isolation, but their importance is difficult to determine. However, the concentration of research on Haladane's ruse and the production of sterile hybrids has brought about progress in the field.

Molecular Origin of Species
Article Abstract:
Little is understood about the mechanics of speciation, the process in which new species originate in sexually reproducing organisms. Two recent research groups attempted to identify genes involved in speciation; one in prezygotic isolation and one in postzygotic isolation. Abalone and fruitflies were used to conduct the research.

Speciation in action
Article Abstract:
Researchers have bridged the gap between the experimental and historical aspects of evolutionary biology by reproducing in the greenhouse the genetic changes that lead to the emergence of a naturally occurring sunflower species. The results can be replicated in independent experiments.
