The Great African Plume Emerges as a Tectonic Player
Article Abstract:
Scientists have increasing evidence of two superplumes which are cooling the Earth's core. Heat from the molten iron core 3000 milometers at the bottom of the Earth's mantle, creates towering plumes of hot rock which rise to the surface in volcanic eruptions. Geophysicists have reported signs of a superplume beneath southern Africa. It may also be pushing up volcanic hotpots in other parts of the continent.

Signs of Plate Tectonics On an Infant Mars
Article Abstract:
Information gathered by the Mars Global Surveyor shows that the planet is similar to that of Earth. The magnetic stripes that surround the planet, is thought, by scientists, to be the work of plate tectonics. Observations made on Mars and characteristics of it are noted.
