The adoption of environment-friendly technology may strongly influence the working of the market in a situation of market equilibrium. The perspectives offered are in the microeconomic level. It is summarily assumed that an innovation can be considered as a new or improved product, a process or the use of a new or different material. Environment-friendly innovations must emit lesser toxins and that its wastes must cause minimal or least environmental damage. Market barriers and failures may sometimes force institutions into abandoning such efforts due to uncontrollable market forces or government regulation.

The country's chemical industry was able to surpass various domestic, as well as international economic crisis due to implementation of vital economic programs such as restructuring of business activities and formation of domestic and foreign strategic alliances. The country is also pursuing intense research and development activities in various fields such as information processing and electronics and life science.

Article Abstract:
Developments attained in the Netherland's Mainport Rotterdam exemplify the importance of formulating an enhanced urban knowledge capability. Utilization of an integrative approach revealed that in the case of the Netherland's Mainport Rotterdam, problems concerning competitiveness were addressed through intelligent utilization of knowledge potentials in transport. The Dutch national government also formulated ways of generating extra money to accelerate its infrastructure programs.
