The challenge of antibiotic resistance
Article Abstract:
The rise in number of antibiotic-resistant bacterial species stems from a low appreciation of the action of antibiotics and disinfectants on microbial populations. While the population of microorganism may be destroyed by antibiotics, some may survive, which in turn could pass on its resistance to the antibiotic to next generations.
