Serious lack of funding is proving to be a major challenge to Canada's National Wildlife Area's (NWA) efforts in protecting the countrys' wild life areas. CNF has also recommended partnerships between government agencies and other organizations to increase the management and monitoring of NWAs.

Nature alert: we did it! National parks receive full funding

Article Abstract:

Parks Canada received $219 million to create 10 new national parks after it was apparent that it was unable to meet its obligations due to a lack of funding. The CNF has been helping in creating awareness and recognizing the importance of Canada's parks and the need to keep them healthy.

Article Abstract:

The students who volunteered at the Lac Saint-Francois National Wildlife Area (NWA) created innovative methods to conserve the area. Like most of Canada's wildlife areas, Lac Saint Francois also suffers neglect because of inadequate funds from Environment Canada.
