Occurrence and spatial and temporal distribution of pesticide residues in groundwater of major corn-growing areas of Greece (1996-1997)
Article Abstract:
Irrigation and drinking water wells found in corn-growing areas of Greece are tested for the presence of pesticides. Accompanying charts and graphs provide additional statistical data.

The nature of soil organic matter affects sorption of pesticides. 1. Relationships with carbon chemistry as determined by (13)C CPMAS NMR spectroscopy
Article Abstract:
Researchers measured the soil organic matter (SOM) structural composition of 27 diverse soils in Pakistan and Australia. Researchers believe that the aromatic quality of the soil organic matter will tell whether or not the soil can bind to nonionic pesticides. Tables illustrate soil quality and research findings.

Monitoring groundwater for pesticides at selected mixing/loading sites in Arkansas
Article Abstract:
The proximity of pesticides to water wells during mixing, rinsing, or loading are conjectured to be more influential in contaminating groundwater with pesticides and nitrates than the chemicals' or the sites' specific characteristics. The observations were gained from the analyses of water well samples screened using gas chromatography-electron capture detection and high performance liquid chromatography-UV detection.
