Article Abstract:
Research by Richard Thompson and others at the University of Southern California indicates that memory is stored in the cerebellum region of the brain. Conditioned reflex research with rabbits revealed that drug suppression of cerebellum activity prevented the learning of a conditioned response.

Space woes begin to take a toll at UCSF

Laboratory space for biomedical researchers at UCSF has become insufficient, and this is threatening the university's status as one of the top US medical schools. Some top faculty members have left because the school has agreed not to expand its campus.

New study provides some good news for fisheries
Article Abstract:
A large-scale analysis of statistics on major commercial fish stocks indicates that overfishing rather than depensation is the cause of declining fish stocks. The results support efforts to curb fishing of overexploited stocks to allow them to recover.
