Several mathematical weighting procedures can be used to extract electrical responses to odors. Neural networks are the general means of determining the nose's subtle discriminations. They are especially effective in assessing complex odors, such as chocolate varieties from vapor of melted candies.

New world and old: a matter of magnitude
Article Abstract:
The distinction between the old and new world is doubly meaningful because protohumans existed in the old world of Europe, Africa and Asia but have not been discovered in the new world of America and Australia. This makes the sapiens of the old world ten times older than any found in the new ones.
