The wild bunch: a sense of humour is a plus when you're raising orphaned raccoons
Article Abstract:
The experience of raising baby raccoons until they are old enough to fend for themselves is recounted. Taking care of orphaned wildlife takes considerable amount of energy, patience and understanding. Inoculations, as well as encouragement for the animals' natural behavior should be kept in mind.

A wolf kill at any cost
Article Abstract:
Government authorities in the Yukon Territory are engagedin the systematic killing of wolves as a remedy to the high mortality rate of calves. Environmentalists oppose the killing and suggest that a study be conducted first to determine the real reasons for the reduction in the calf population.

How do bees make wax and honey?

Bees have glands that produce wax and a honey stomach where liquid nectar is collected. The glands are located in pockets where wax is discharged as a liquid. Honeybees use salivary enzymes to convert the nectar into honey.
