Theoretical and experimental analysis of peeper equilibration dynamics
Article Abstract:
The computer models that were developed to investigate the equilibration dynamics of a vial peeper design have shown that peeper equilibration is governed solely by solute diffusion through the sediments. One model has accurately described the concentration distributions and dynamic behavior of solute within the peeper cell itself. Another model described the equilibration of peepers placed within sediments. Results revealed the importance of peeper dimensions and solute diffusivities for equilibration times.

Laundry dryer lint: a novel matrix for nonintrusive environmental lead screening
Article Abstract:
Laundry dryer lint is found to have a potential to be an effective nonintrusive, first stage screening mechanism for households with elevated lead levels. A pilot study was conducted in a Canadian urban environment and steps included the establishment of background levels of lead, identification of households with elevated lead levels resulting from the transport of occupational lead by an adult family member and identification of lead particles and determination of their source.
