Article Abstract:
A study was done on the amount of energy expended by snakes while slithering on their bellies. It was shown that the slithering motion does not save much energy for the snake as was previously theorized but it does provide a faster means of escape.

Medusa on the move: this freshwater jellyfish is a world traveller
Article Abstract:
Medusae is the common name for the rare freshwater jellyfish found in western Quebec. They were first sighted in the Quebec Laurentians in 1938. Jellyfishes are polymorphic and eat planktons, copepods and zebra mussel larvae.

Silken subterfuge
Article Abstract:
A recent study discovered that spider webs reflected a significant amount of ultraviolet light. Because insects use ultraviolet light to find their way in space, they become easy prey to the silken snare of spiders.
