Multicomponent reactive transport in an in situ zero-valent iron cell
Article Abstract:
The behavior of chemical components in groundwater transported via the iron cell of a pilot-scale funnel and gate treatment system is studied. Equilibrium and kinetic reactions for TCE degradation, iron dissolution, precipitation of secondary minerals, and complexation are used to simulate multicomponent reactive transport in an in situ zero-valent iron cell.

Trialkylamines and coprostanol as tracers of urban pollution in waters from enclosed seas: the Mediterranean and Black Sea
Article Abstract:
The measurement of coprostanol and trialkylamines was accomplished for the first time in the Black Sea and the Mediterranean Sea. Coprostanol, which is often used as a fecal pollution indicator, was not found to be as good a tracer of urban pollution as trialkylamines. Trialkylamines are better tracers because they are more stable and more source specific than coprostanol.
