Universal quantum simulators
Article Abstract:
Quantum computers are a theoretical construct in which bits of information are stored in elementary particles, which exhibit quantum-mechanical properties. A proof of physicist Richard Feynman's 1982 conjecture, that quantum computers can simulate any quantum system, is presented.

Quantum hysteresis in molecular magnets
Article Abstract:
Measurements of the response to an increasing magnetic field in the crystalline organic compound Mn12 acetate show a stepped rather than smoothly shaped magnetization curve. The research that discovered this quantum magnetic hysteresis is discussed.

Theorists to the quantum mechanical wave: 'Get real.'
Article Abstract:
Theorists Yakir Aharonov and Jeeva Anandan have developed a method to physically measure a quantum wave. The experiment adds a second, stronger magnetic field to the field of the Stern-Gerlach apparatus.
