Virtually there
Article Abstract:
The UK's University for industry (Ufi) is a national learning scheme which attempts to offer employees the prospect of lifelong learning. It is aimed at helping businesses produce higher levels of qualification in their staff and at increasing competitiveness. The engineering industry is well placed to take advantage of the services offered by the Ufi and a research project into the potential of Ufi, carried out by the Engineering Employers' Federation, shows that despite some shortcomings, the program has many advantages for the industry.
