Partisan battle mars markup of joint authorization bill
Article Abstract:
Partisan rancor nearly destroyed the House Science Committee's bipartisanship tradition in Apr 1996. However, the committee authorized $430 million more in funding for civilian, nonmedical research agencies than was projected for 1997 and increased basic research spending by about $250 million.
