What cloning means for gene therapy

Gene therapy could be combined with cloning to effect germ-line therapy, the prevention of fatal or debilitating diseases passed on from generation to generation. Couples carrying a genetic illness can have their offspring cured by employing gene therapy to correct the defective gene in the formation of the embryo.
