Desalination research aims to help inland communities
Article Abstract:
A number of municipalities have implemented desalination to treat brackish groundwater or other sources previously considered too salty. The Awwa Research Foundation of Denver, and California Energy Commissions are jointly sponsoring research project intended to develop cost-effective methods that municipalities can use to eliminate discharges of concentrate.

Two cable-stayed spans selected for Ohio River near Louisville

Construction giant Michael Baker Jr. Inc. has selected two-cable stayed spans for constructing Ohio River Bridge at Louisville. This project is expected to cost $2.5 billion.
