XML and the second-generation Web

The advent of XML promises to extend the reach of the Internet to various kinds of human activity. Developed by the World Wide Web Consortium, XML is widely seen as the panacea to some of the problems encountered on the Web, not the least of which are the incompatibilities of computer systems. The enormous potential of the XML standard has made it extremely popular among scientists and industries.

Second thoughts about fluoride
Article Abstract:
Concerns raised about the various health hazards caused by the fluoride in drinking water, added to protect consumers' teeth from decay are presented. Excess use of fluoride is found to affect the brain, thyroid gland and bones and is hence considered being banned from water and foods.

Second chance for Biosphere
Article Abstract:
Scientists of the Biosphere 2 project failed to simulate the earth's ecosystem or biosphere. Researchers who lived in the giant greenhouse encountered life threatening situations such as lack of air and food. Biosphere 2 has been converted into a research facility for earth science.
