Gender differences in the treatment of cerebrovascular disease
Article Abstract:
Gender differences in the treatment of cerebrovascular disease for Medicare beneficiaries have been studied using secondary database analyses with an all-strokes group made up of 3356 women and 2927 men, with 1009 women and 990 men in the carotid disease subgroup. Women hospitalized for strokes were found to undergo fewer carotid endarterectomies than men.
