Antecedents of union loyalty: the influence of individual dispositions and organizational context
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to determine the effects of individual disposition and organizational context variables on union commitment. The study controlled demographics, job-related factors and other variables that have been tackled in other studies. The results show that individual dispositional and organizational context variables significantly affect union commitment.

A new conceptualization of union commitment: development and test of an integrated theory
Article Abstract:
The theory of reasoned action and the rationalistic model of commitment are used to develop an integrated model for research on union commitment. The integrated model is based on the assumption that instrumentality and ideology are two components of union commitment which have significant effects on dispositions toward unions and ultimately to union participation.

Developing and maintaining union commitment: a theoretical framework
Article Abstract:
A model for developing and maintaining union commitment is presented. The model is based on union recognition of members' organizational rights and members' recognition of organizational responsibilities and performance of citizenship behaviors. Concepts of psychological contracts, organizational citizenship behaviors and organizational socialization are utilized.
