Building core competencies in crisis management through organizational learning: the case of the French nuclear power producer
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to characterize a conceptual model on how organizational learning aids firms to establish a set of embedded knowledge assets. The study was carried out on the resource-based theory of the firm and utilized the case of the French nuclear industry to describe EDF's success in building a core competence in nuclear risk and crisis management. Results indicated that crises helped companies support its core competencies and realize competitive advantage.
