"Early State" in cross-cultural perspective: a statistical reanalysis of Henri J.M. Claessen's database
Article Abstract:
The Early State project constituted an important step toward bridging the gap between the two types of cross-cultural research that are orthodox quantitative, worldwide, cross-cultural research, and qualitative comparative studies. Claessen's data set is extremely valuable and helps further statistical analysis.

Wife-husband intimacy and female status in cross-cultural perspective
Article Abstract:
A study was carried out to find out if spouses who had relatively equal status were more likely to be intimate with one another than in societies where there exists spousal status inequality. Results indicate that intimacy in spousal relationships is significantly predicted by female status.

Factors of sexual freedom among foragers in cross-cultural perspective
Article Abstract:
Cultural complexity is one of the important negative predictors of sexual freedom. An analysis is therefore provided on simple societies, suggesting a model of relationships between cultural complexity and female premarital sexual freedom among foragers.
