Tech forecasting: an empirical perspective
Article Abstract:
A bibliometric assessment of technological forecasting (TF) indicate that the activity is dispersing under a variety of names. These include such labels as 'competitive technological intelligence,' 'technology road mapping' and 'technology foresight.' TF, while not booming, is neither stagnating as indicated by the number of methodology development on the subject. An increase in funding for research will do much in rejuvenating TF.
