Article Abstract:
The Challenger space shuttle disaster of 1986 is used to demonstrate the detrimental effects of excessive centrality of control and the resultant intensification of dependency relations. Excessive centrality produced a culture of conformity in which individual and group conflicts were suppressed.

From organizational development to change management: the emergence of a new profession
Article Abstract:
Changes in organizational development have caused the evolution of change management as a different field of management expertise. Most consultancy firms have realized the increasing demand for change management especially in large, multinational corporations. Many of these firms have established a separate facility or department that will specifically provide change management solutions. Change management has been defined as a range of intervention strategies aimed at enhancing human performance directly or indirectly.
