Genetic structuralism, psychological sociology and pragmatic social actor theory: proposals for a convergence of French sociologies
Article Abstract:
The influence of Wittgenstein and Freud on the development of Pierre Bourdieu's sociology and the theory of genetic structuralism and the influence on the theoretical development of two other strains of French sociology propounded by L. Boltanski, L. Thevenot and B. Lahire are presented. The analysis suggests the possibility of how a synthesis can be developed between the two currents thought to fill any gaps in Bourdieu's work.
