Nuestra America: reinventing a subaltern paradigm of recognition and redistribution
Article Abstract:
The author critiques Georg Hegel's conception that universal history progresses from the East to the West and that the 20th century is imagined as the 'European American' century, and instead argues for a new subaltern 20th century history called the 'Neustra America' American Century. Topics addressed include the politics of globalization, equality, and mixed race.
