On the critique of secular ethics: An essay with Flannery O'Connor and Hannah Arendt
Article Abstract:
Southern US fiction writer, Flannery O'Connor referred to Hannah Ardent's book Eichmann in Jerusalem to express the effect of the revelations of Nazi Germany, which she described as haunting. O'Connor was usually lauded or critiqued for her entanglement in otherworldly concerns but it is seen that these concerns are comprehensible and the fictional depiction of secular characters is discussed.
